2026 eMed Summer Internship - Population Health & Public Health
This summer internship is designed for pre-medical undergraduate students enrolled in a four-year college or university who have an interest in population health, public health, or obesity medicine. The internship provides structured exposure to population-level health initiatives, public health research, and data-informed healthcare programs within a focus on GLP-1s and the pharmaceutical industry.
Interns will work closely with healthcare and corporate professionals and gain insight into how population health principles inform clinical care, preventive medicine, and health system design.
Key Responsibilities
- Support population health initiatives through background medical research and data review
- Assist with analysis and interpretation of population-level health trends and outcomes
- Conduct literature reviews related to public health, epidemiology, medications, or obesity medicine
- Contribute to written summaries, reports, or presentations for internal use
- Participate in team meetings, educational sessions, and project discussions
- Gain exposure to preventive care models, and clinical research concepts

- Understand how population health and epidemiologic data are used in healthcare decision-making
- Develop foundational skills in interpreting population-level research
- Explore intersections between digital clinical care, population health, and obesity medicine
Required Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a four-year accredited college or university
- Undergraduate pre-medical students
- Completion of at least one course in statistics, epidemiology, or population health
- Strong written communication, critical thinking, and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a professional setting
Preferred Qualifications
- Interest in obesity medicine, metabolic health, or preventive medicine
- Prior research, clinical, community health, or healthcare-related experience
