Position Summary
As a Senior Cloud Engineer at eMed, you will play a critical role in architecting, developing, and optimizing our cloud-native infrastructure, with a strong focus on reliability, security, scalability, and automation. Working under the guidance of the Sr. Director – Cloud, SRE, Infosec & IT, you’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance platform performance, reduce downtime, and strengthen cloud operations as we scale.

Position Summary
As a Senior Cloud Engineer at eMed, you will play a critical role in architecting, developing, and optimizing our cloud-native infrastructure, with a strong focus on reliability, security, scalability, and automation. Working under the guidance of the Sr. Director – Cloud, SRE, Infosec & IT, you’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance platform performance, reduce downtime, and strengthen cloud operations as we scale.
Key Responsibilities
Cloud Architecture & Infrastructure
- Design, implement, and maintain secure, scalable, and highly available infrastructure on AWS.
- Champion Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) practices using tools like Terraform and AWS CloudFormation.
- Optimize system architecture for performance, cost, and maintainability.
- Build and manage CI/CD pipelines in collaboration with software engineering teams.
- Drive automation for infrastructure provisioning, deployments, and monitoring.
- Develop and maintain observability solutions including logging, alerting, and metrics dashboards (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog).
- Partner with the SRE function to ensure uptime, incident response, and root cause analysis.
- Define and support SLAs/SLOs for infrastructure reliability and application performance.
- Participate in on-call rotations and drive incident resolution.
- Implement and enforce cloud security best practices in collaboration with the InfoSec team.
- Contribute to the management of identity, access controls, encryption, and secrets management.
- Assist with audits and ensure compliance with HIPAA, SOC 2, and other industry standards.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 7+ years of hands-on experience in cloud engineering, infrastructure, or DevOps roles.
- Deep proficiency with AWS services (e.g., EC2, ECS/EKS, S3, RDS, Lambda, IAM).
- Strong scripting and automation skills (e.g., Python, Bash, Go).
- Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, ArgoCD, etc.).
- Working knowledge of security and compliance in cloud environments (e.g., HIPAA, SOC 2).
- Background in healthcare or healthtech is a plus.
- Experience working in regulated environments with sensitive data.
- Exposure to Okta, Google Workspace, MDM, and other enterprise IT tools.
